ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson women's tennis (15-4, 4-3 SAC) won their 3rd straight match on Tuesday afternoon, besting Limestone (3-9, 2-6 SAC) by a 4-0 score at the Trojan Tennis Complex. AU raced to a doubles point victory, and didn't look back in singles play.

"So proud of the girls and how they fought today," AU Assistant Coach Kate Drosieko said after the win. "They really capitalized on an opportunity to take back a win from a match that we lost last year. Our doubles was great, they're really starting to understand it and mesh well with their partners. It bodes well for the remainder of the season with how they work together as a team. Really excited to continue the rest of the season!"

AU started the match by taking their 5th straight doubles point. Senior Valentina Borda and junior Alexandria Braithwaite blanked their opponents 6-0 at No. 2, then freshman Mara Opre and sophomore Elena Ronconi did the same on court 3. Limestone led 4-2 at the No. 1 spot when play was halted.

Holding a 1-0 lead, the Trojans didn't stop there. Freshman Ensley Collins rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6, and Ronconi extended the lead with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5.

One point from the team victory, Braithwaite got the Trojans across the finish line. Her 6-2, 6-3 triumph at No. 4 sealed the win for AU. The three matches at No. 1, 2, and 3 went unfinished.

AU travels to take on the UVA-Wise Cavaliers (7-10, 1-5 SAC) on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. Last season, the Trojans shut out the Cavaliers 7-0 in Anderson.
