ANDERSON, S.C. -- Julian Caro (Medellin, Colombia) of men's soccer and Claudia Hastings (Liverpool, England) of women's golf have been selected as Anderson University's Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 20.
Caro tallied a brace in Anderson's 2-1 win over North Greenville. The win marked Head Coach Michael Zion's 100th career victory at the helm of AU soccer. Caro is first on the team and third in the league with 13 points on the season following the two-goal game.
Hastings earned her first individual win as a Trojan at the Saint Leo Invite in Dade City, Fla. Of 68 competitors in the field, Hastings was the only player to shoot under-par in each of the three rounds, carding a 68-70-71—209(-7) final score. The title makes her fourth individual win of her career.
Each week, student-athletes are honored for his or her performance in competition, classroom or community, being named the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week.
