Men's Soccer Hosts Erskine on Wednesday

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team is preparing to play host to the Erskine College Flying Fleet on Wednesday (Oct. 6) at Spero Financial Field.

Anderson will enter the match with a 5-2-1 record on the season, coming off a 3-0 win over Tusculum over the weekend. Alexandre Cox-Ashwood leads the team and is tied for second in the SAC with seven goals, scoring two in the win against Tusculum. The Trojans have been excellent at home so far, coming into Wednesday with a mark of 4-1.

Erskine enters the match with a 0-8-1 record, most recently ending in a 1-1 draw to Belmont Abbey. They have faced two SAC opponents so far, losing 4-0 to Coker and 6-2 to Carson-Newman. Before the season, the Flying Fleet were picked to finish third in Conference Carolinas.

Dennis Cole leads Erskine with three goals so far this season, while Toni Neuvonen, Andres Rojas, and Corentin Serbource have each scored once. Goalkeeper Evan Zizek has 40 saves this season, which ranks third in Conference Carolinas.

Anderson leads the all-time series against Erskine with a record of 11-8-4, including winning two straight. The last matchup was in 2019, ending in a 1-0 Trojan win.

The Trojans will be back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 6) as they play host to Erskine. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
