Men's Soccer Travels to Lincoln Memorial on Saturday

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer is preparing to travel to Harrogate, Tennessee on Saturday (Oct. 30) to take on the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in a South Atlantic Conference match.

On Wednesday (Oct. 27), the NCAA announced the first Super Region 2 Rankings. The South Atlantic Conference posted four teams in the rankings, with nationally ranked Limestone coming in at fourth. Anderson ranks sixth, Lenoir-Rhyne at 10th, and Coker placing 11th.

Anderson currently holds a 10-2-2 record, coming off a 1-1 draw against Mars Hill over the weekend. Up until that point, the Trojans had won seven games in a row which propelled them to a spot in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll at No. 20.

"I am very proud of the team and their efforts to be recognized on a regional and national level thus far," said coach Michael Zion. "There is a long way to go still but we are where we want to be in the moment. We have to keep working every day to be the best we can and that is what our aim will be."

Lincoln Memorial will enter the weekend with a 1-12-2 record, including an 0-8-1 clip in the SAC. The Railsplitters are looking to end their 10-game losing streak, with their last win coming on Sept. 5 in a 3-2 victory over West Alabama. Goalkeeper Robin Hermann is tied for the conference lead with 64 saves and is second in save percentage (.771).

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 30) as they will travel to face Lincoln Memorial. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
