ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team will look to extend their winning streak in seven games in a row on Wednesday (Oct. 20) as they travel to Dahlonega, GA to take on the North Georgia Nighthawks.
Anderson is coming off a week in which they picked up two South Atlantic Conference wins against Newberry and Wingate, improving their overall SAC record on the season to 5-2-1. Alexandre Cox-Ashwood and Agustin Ortiz each scored in the victory over Newberry, and Harry Ward scored a pair of goals in the 2-0 win over Wingate.
North Georgia is coming off a week in which they tied fifth nationally ranked Young Harris 2-2 in double overtime and lost 3-2 to Georgia Southwestern State in double overtime. For the season, the Nighthawks are 5-7-1 with a 2-6-1 clip in the Peach Belt. The Nighthawks are 1-1 against common opponents as Anderson, defeating Erskine and losing to Lander. Donovan Odier leads the team with nine goals, scoring once in each of the games last week. Anderson and North Georgia are tied in the series history 5-5-1, with the Trojans winning the last matchup in 2019 by a score of 1-0.
