Men's Soccer Looking For Win Over Wingate On Saturday

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team will look to keep the winning streak going on Saturday (Oct. 16) as they take on the Wingate Bulldogs at Spero Financial Field.

Anderson enters Saturday's match with an 8-2-1 record, currently riding a five-game winning streak. Most recently, the Trojans picked up a pair of road wins over Carson-Newman and Newberry. Alexandre Cox-Ashwood is tied for the SAC lead with 10 goals, including scoring in four consecutive matches.

The Bulldogs will enter the match at 5-5-1 overall, and a 3-3-1. Wingate is coming off a heartbreaking 3-2 loss at home to Coker on Wednesday (Oct. 13). At 3-3-1, the Bulldogs are sixth in the conference standings, meanwhile at 4-2-1, the Trojans are fourth.

Soren Nygaard leads the team with four goals on the season, while Mikkel Fahlen Bruun has three goals. The Bulldogs have three players with two goals, and six more players have scored once. Jens Bergendorff and Jamie Boegel have split goalkeeping duties, combining for 38 saves. Wingate leads the series history 10-8-1, winning the last two matchups. 

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 16) as they play host to the Wingate Bulldogs. Game time is set for 7:30 PM, with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
