ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference announced the first weekly honors of the 2026 season on Monday, naming Anderson Women's Soccer senior goalkeeper Aliyah Morgan (Fort Myers, Fla.) the Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Morgan opened the 2026 campaign with two incredible performances in goal for the Trojans. On the week, she faced 22 shots and recorded 14 saves while only allowing one to find the back of the net for a 0.933 SV%.
 
In the season opener at Lander on Thursday, Morgan played all 90 minutes in goal for the Black & Gold, producing eight saves and allowing only one goal before recording her first shutout victory of the season against Southern Wesleyan on Saturday. In contest with the Warriors, Morgan played 72 minutes in goal and boasted six saves for a 1.00 SV%.
 
The Black and Gold begin conference play in an early afternoon matchup against Coker on Sunday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
