EMORY, Va. – Anderson University Women's Soccer (4-1, 2-0 SAC) flipped the script after a scoreless opening half to surge past Emory & Henry (1-2-2, 0-1-1 SAC) 2-0, on the road Sunday afternoon for its second-straight shutout victory.
"We are happy to earn three points on the road." said Head Coach
Sarah Jacobs. "We scored good team goals and put away the chances we created. Our defense was also solid earning another clean sheet."
The first 45 minutes of the contest offered little separation between the two sides, with the match remaining scoreless through a physical opening half that featured 12 combined fouls between the Trojans and the Wasps. But the Black and Gold came alive after the break, cracking the scoreboard in just the first 12 minutes of the final half.
Sophomore
Gabby Kirchner (Lavallette, N.J.) broke through to score the Trojan's first goal of the match with a direct strike on the net to finish a setup from Junior
Jazel DeOliveira (Florianopolis, Brazil) and senior
Kaitlyn Gregory (Cincinnati, Ohio). The game-winning goal marked another addition to Gregory's nation-leading assist total.
The Trojans didn't stop there. Just 90 seconds later, Gregory completed another direct strike into the back of the net to double Anderson's lead. DeOliveira delivered an assist once again after a clean pass from the foot of sophomore
Aubrey Hutchins (Harrisburg, N.C.) on the outside.
From a scoreless battle to a two-goal advantage in just 90 seconds, the Trojans secured its third clean sheet victory just five contests deep into the 2026 campaign. AU took nine shots, six on target, while E&H tallied seven with just two on goal that found the hands of Anderson's goalkeeper.
Playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Trojans and recording her second-straight shutout victory was senior
Aliyah Morgan (Fort Myers, Fla.). The Fort Myers native recorded two saves on the game with the defensive line facing seven total shots from the Wasps.
The Black and Gold remain on the road when they travel to Georgia College for another nonconference matchup on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The Trojans will take the field at 7 p.m.
