WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--Anderson's distance medley relay teams boasted impressive showings at the Camel City Distance meet hosted at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday. The men's team, comprised on Dylan Lego (Roebuck, S.C.), Ian Macurda (Charlotte, N.C.), Adam Trusty (Greer, S.C.) and Ty Nelson (Moore, S.C.), ran a 10:47 race for a second-place finish, while the women's squad, made up of Emma Whitaker (Inman, S.C.), Molly Hanlon (Cumming, Ga.), Sarah Rudolph (Winter Springs, Fla.) and Mclayne Wyatt (Greenville, S.C.), recorded a third-place 12:51 race. Both marks stand third overall among South Atlantic Conference standings this season.
"The crew showed up today as we had several personal bests and some top conference marks," said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Kevin Eagle. "The excitement is starting to rise as we get closer to the championship season. We have a few more things to sharpen up on, but we will be ready to compete hard in three weeks."
In the men's 3000m, sophomore Sean McAdams (Greenville, S.C.) bested his PR time by 11 seconds, recording a time of 8:27. McAdams finished 5th in the race of 69 competitors. His time sits at No. 15 in the SAC this season.
In the women's mile, Whitaker outdid her personal best by 12 seconds, running a 5:18 mile. The time was good for 26th of 54 athletes and stands 18th overall in the conference. Lindsey Bright also ran a personal best mile, finishing with a time of 5:45 to beat her standing PR by eight seconds.
Noah Stump (Easley, S.C.) ran a 1:59 800m, a time good for 19th of 76 athletes and 21st of SAC competitors this year.
Maggie Long (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) boasted a 10.73m mark in the triple jump event, finishing 10th in the competition and 10th in the SAC this season. Cate Murawski (Mount Prospect, Ill.) recorded a 9.96m mark, giving her a new personal record.
The Trojans are back in action next week, competing at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
