ANDERSON, S.C.--As the semester wraps up and the Trojan Men's Lacrosse program heads into Year 6, Head Coach Albert Mitchell announced his selections for team captains, naming seniors Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), redshirt sophomore Brodie Deutsch (Wilmington, N.C.) and junior Nash Perry (Buford, Ga.) as this year's leaders.
"I'm incredibly excited to announce our 2026 captains," said Mitchell. "These four have worked incredibly hard both on and off the field to earn the trust of the team and the coaching staff. This group brings a lot of experience in so many ways, and I know they will continue to lead this team in the right direction."
Veterans in the Black and Gold, Badraun and Bushnoe have been offensive assets since their debut year in 2023, appearing in 51 and 47 games respectively so far in their Anderson career.
The South Atlantic Conference 2023 Freshman of the Year, Badraun is a two-time All-Conference honoree and enters the season after being named to the USILA All-South Region First-Team, USA Lacrosse All-American Second-Team and USILA All-American Second-Team last year. Badraun holds the program record for career goals (144), shots (423) and shots on goal (238). He is second in program history in assists with 49 and points with 193.
Bushnoe goes into the season off a 26-goal, 18-assist campaign in 2025. Earning a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week following a seven-goal performance in February, Bushnoe ranks Top-10 for career goals (4), assists (28) and points (77).
Starting 16 of 18 games played last year, Deutsch's first season rostered for AU came with 20 goals, 26 assists, 25 groundballs and seven caused turnovers. His assist total ranks fifth in program history for a single season count and tenth for a career tally.
Following a year at VMI, the 2025 season also marked the first wearing Black and Gold for Perry, who started 16 of 17 games played. Named to the All-SAC Second-Team and USILA All-South Region Honorable Mention, Perry recorded 38 groundballs, four goals and five assists last season.
2026 marks Year 6 for Anderson, who looks to build off last season's historic momentum. The winningest season in program history, 2025 saw the Trojans earn their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid after going 12-3 on the season and 9-1 in league play. Anderson reached as high as No. 7 in the national polls in 2025, earning three Top-15 wins and a SAC Championship berth, along with eight All-SAC, four All-Region and four All-American honors.
