MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Anderson women's tennis (1-0) shut out the Pfeiffer Falcons (2-1) by a 7-0 score on Saturday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center. The win marked the 11th straight season that the Trojans have started 1-0.
In doubles, the Black and Gold made quick work of the three matches, dropping only four games over the three courts.
Jadyn Koenes and
Grace Weaver breezed through their opponents at No. 3 in a 6-0 win.
In singles play, the Trojans raced to 6-0, 6-0 wins at three positions:
Elena Ronconi at No. 1,
Mara Opre at No. 2, and
Jadyn Koenes at No. 5.
With the match clinched,
Ensley Collins,
Grace Weaver, and
Taylor Hendrick recorded straight-set victories to finish off the sweep. AU dropped only eight games across all six singles courts, continuing their dominance of Pfeiffer.

The Black and Gold host their annual alumni event on Saturday, October 5th, starting at 11:00 a.m. AU's first home match of the season comes on Wednesday, October 9th against Emmanuel. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m at the Trojan Tennis Complex.
