LEXINGTON, KY – The American Volleyball Coaches Association has named its 2024 Division II Women's Volleyball All-Region Teams to which three Trojans were named. Senior Brantley Chipley and sophomore Ellie Nieporte were named to the All-Southeast Region First Team while sophomore Ava Reeves was named an Honorable Mention.
Chipley was also named to the South Atlantic Conference Second Team after finishing the regular season with 90.0 total blocks and a team-high 31 solo blocks.
She came up with 252 kills, averaging 2.36 per set and a .324 hitting percentage.
Nieporte was also named to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second Team as well as the All-SAC Second Team with Chipley. She was also named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 21.
Nieporte was the statistical champion in the SAC in assists per set with 10.25, racking up 1,097 assists in her sophomore campaign.
She came up with 15 double-doubles on the season, averaging 2.26 digs per set for a total of 240. She also came up with 38.0 total blocks.
Reeves was named to the All-SAC Second Team as well, leading the team on offense with a team-high 357 kills, the second-highest in the SAC in the regular season. She averaged 3.25 kills per set and notched 23 service aces.
On defense, Reeves notched a season total 209 digs and 32.0 total blocks.
The Trojans finished the regular season with a record of 18-9 overall and 13-5 in the SAC. The postseason continues for Anderson on Friday, Dec. 6th when they take on Flagler College in the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament at 1:30 p.m.
The AVCA's mission is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. AVCA membership includes over 9,000 members made up of collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's volleyball, men's volleyball, and beach volleyball coaches, and work to increase exposure and recognition for the sport of volleyball as a whole.
