NEWBERRY, S.C. -- In their second to last road game of the regular season, the Trojans swept Newberry College (9-10) to take the series without dropping a set. Anderson moves to 15-5 overall on the season and 10-2 in the SAC with the win.
"I felt like tonight we played a pretty steady match from start to finish," head coach
Todd Hay said. "There were some moments when our passing had a tough time getting it to the target consistently but we weathered the storm. Our blocking showed a lot of effort tonight and that was a big point of emphasis going in. Now we shift back to the home court for three in a row beginning Thursday. We look forward to seeing everyone at 6:00 pm against an up and coming Catawba team."
The Trojans swung .288 on the night with 45 kills to the Wolves' 34. They came up with nine blocks and 54 digs for a strong defensive effort. Their aggressive serving paid off as well with six aces.
