ROCK HILL, S.C. - Two Anderson University women's soccer players, junior
Catherine Nardella and freshman
Ansley Douty earned postseason South Atlantic Conference honors, released by the league Wednesday afternoon.
Anderson (9-6-2, 5-5-1 SAC) finished sixth after regular season play and recently traveled to the third-seeded Catawba Indians defeating Catawba in overtime, 2-1, in a SAC quarterfinal matchup. Anderson returns to the SAC semifinals to face-off with No. 2 Lenoir-Rhyne, hosted by Sportsplex at Matthews (Matthews, N.C.) on Friday.
Nardella was named to the All-SAC Third Team after an impressive junior campaign. The native of Clovis, Cali. Â saw action in all 17 matches with starts in 16. Nardella started the season scoring a goal in each of the first five matches while tallying seven goals and one assist for the season.
In Douty's freshman debut with the Trojans, her stellar play earned her a spot on the All-SAC Second Team. The native of Charleston, S.C. scored five goals and was credited with two assists during regular season play. Douty scored her sixth goal of the season in Saturday's SAC quarterfinal match to help the Trojans to advance to the SAC semifinal round.
