ANDERSON S.C. - The Trojans battled a hard-fought matchup at home on Saturday night, resulting in a 1-1 draw against the Lander Bearcats (1-0-1) for the 10th matchup between the two programs.

Anderson (0-1-1) entered the match with a 0-1 record after falling in a tough match against Montevallo during the season opener on Thursday.

The Bearcats opened the scoring just eight minutes into the matchup with a goal by senior Claire Regnault. The Trojans responded to the goal with a well-placed header by sophomore

th minute of play. Lander had a late chance to score in the 89
th minute that was saved by redshirt sophomore
Aliyah Morgan.

"I'm proud of the fight we showed tonight", said Head Coach
Sarah Jacobs. "The team raised the standard for what it looks like to battle. We will continue to build out style as we prepare for conference."

Woods also led Anderson with two shots, one coming on goal, followed by Douty with one shot, and one on goal. The Black and Gold lead the matchup with seven corner kicks while the Bearcats recorded five.

The series between the two programs now sits at 2-6-2.

Anderson will continue their non-conference home stretch when they welcome Emmanuel on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
