ANDERSON, S.C. -- For the third time this season, outside hitter
Jamie Lancaster has been selected as the Conference Carolinas
volleyball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference
office Tuesday afternoon. The junior from Fountain Inn, S.C., who
last week was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
first team, ranks eighth nationally in kills per set (4.35). The
outside hitter averaged a double-double with 19 kills (4.75/set)
and 15.3 digs (3.81/set) last week to help lead Anderson to a 3-1
record and the No. four seed in the conference tournament that
begins tonight. She recorded match-highs in kills in all four
matches on the week as the Trojans picked up their sixth win in
seven matches. Lancaster posted 76 total kills in 192 attempts
against only 18 errors for an impressive .302 attack percentage
over the four-game span. She also recorded eight aces, including
three versus both Belmont Abbey and Peach Belt opponent Augusta
State. For the week, Lancaster averaged a team-best 4.75 kills and
was second on the squad with 3.81 digs per set, while recording a
team-high .302 hitting percentage. "The recognition is
well-deserved," said Anderson head coach Craig Mosqueda. "Jamie had
a great effort." Anderson wrapped up the regular season with an
overall record of 21-12 and 12-6 in the league and play host to No.
5 seed Mount Olive tonight in the first round of the conference
