ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Sophomore
Mia Elder (Leland, N.C.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference/WePlayed Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Trojans to a 3-0 week with a sweep over Lenoir-Rhyne and 3-1 wins over Tusculum and UVA Wise.
Elder totaled 44 kills for 4.00 kills per set and a .378 hitting percentage on the week. She added 12 blocks and 16 digs.
In the sweep over Lenoir-Rhyne, Elder posted 11 kills with just one error for a .500 clip. She tacked on five digs and three blocks.
At Tusculum, Elder came up with a career-high 17 kills, hitting .316. She picked up seven digs and added two blocks.
She finished the week with 16 kills on a .375 clip and a career-high seven blocks at UVA Wise.
Elder currently leads the team and sits at sixth in the SAC in kills with 184 and is fifth in the SAC in hitting percentage with .296.
The Trojans are back in action tomorrow, Oct. 21 when they battle No. 20 Wingate on the road at 7 p.m.
