Box Score GREENEVILLE, Tenn.--The Trojans (2-4, 0-3) had their first road match of the spring campaign on Wednesday, and dropped a heartbreaker to the Pioneers (8-1, 1-0), losing 4-3.
In doubles play, Tusculum took Court 1 by a score of 6-2, while Spencer Dorosheff (High Springs, Fla.) and Alex Lozano (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) earned a 6-2 win on Court 3. The doubles point came down to Court 2, where the Trojans ultimately fell 7-6 (7-4) in the tiebreaker.
Moving into singles matches, Mathis Collignon (Les Pavillons Sous Bois, France) earned a dominant straight-set win at the No. 1 position, only dropping one game. Vicent Fenollar (Alicante, Spain) and Wynn Shioi (Las Vegas, Nev.) also boasted straight-set wins to add to the Trojans' team score.
The Pioneers took Court 6 in straight sets, so the match relied on the outcomes of Courts 4 and 5. Though AU picked up Set 1 wins on both courts, Tusculum rallied to win the best of three on both, outlasting Anderson for the 4-3 win.
Anderson returns home this Friday (March 6) to host No. 14 Columbus State at 2 PM.
