ANDERSON, S.C. — The Anderson University men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance against Columbia College, sweeping doubles play and winning all six singles matches to secure a 7-0 shutout.
The Trojans set the tone early by claiming all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles,
Vicent Fenollar and
Sky Thavornchaisophon defeated Owen Griffiths and Carlos Diaz, 6-2.
Mihailo Nikic and
Alex Lozano followed with a 6-0 victory over Noah Snipes and Gabriel Kian at No. 2, while
Wynn Shioi and
Luke Skillman completed the sweep with a 6-2 win over Clemens Urban and Len Spanier at No. 3.
Anderson carried a 1-0 lead into singles play and continued to roll, earning straight-set victories on five courts. Fenollar opened singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Diaz at No. 1, and Nikic followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Spanier at No. 2. Shioi added a win at No. 3, defeating Urban 7-6, 6-4.
The Trojans closed out the shutout with three more singles victories. Thavornchaisophon defeated Kian 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4, while
Dandapoojith Reddy earned a 6-0, 6-3 win over Snipes at No. 5. Lozano capped the lineup with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6.
With a sweep of the doubles matches and six singles wins, Anderson completed a commanding 7-0 victory over Columbia College.
