ANDERSON, S.C.--The Trojan Men's Tennis hosted USC Sumter for their first of four-straight home matches to open Spring 2026, and put up a dominant performance, sweeping the Fire Ants 7-0.
"Super proud of the boys today," said Head Coach Joey Eskridge. "Today we played Sumter a lot better than we played them last semester. They're a Top-10 JUCO team, very competitive. Our guys played great, good attitude, good behavior—moving in the right direction. Can't wait until our next match."
AU swept doubles play, easily taking all three courts to secure a 1-0 advantage going into singles.
Graduate transfer Spencer Dorosheff (High Springs, Fla.) won his singles match first, winning 12-straight games for a 6-0, 6-0 Trojan victory on Court 5. Vicent Fenollar (Alicante, Spain) also boasted back-to-back 6-0 sets to win at the No. 1 position.
On the four remaining courts, the Trojans earned straight-set wins to sweep the Fire Ants and open this home-stint with a 7-0 win.
The Trojans are back next Saturday (Feb. 21) to host Francis Marion. Opening serve is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
