ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson men's tennis (13-7, 5-5 SAC) honored their seniors with a 4-0 sweep of Emory & Henry (1-14, 0-11 SAC) on Saturday afternoon at the Trojan Tennis Complex. The win evened up AU's conference record, and moved them past UVA Wise in the standings.

"It was a good senior day for our teams," AU Head Coach Joey Eskridge said after the win. "Our seniors showed up, played great, and we had a good time." We're thankful for God allowing us to play at our best and stay healthy through the process. Go Trojans!"

In doubles, AU continued their strong play, earning their 6th straight doubles point. Jackson Lucas and Wynn Shioi rebounded from a pair of recent losses, winning by a 6-2 score at No. 1. Senior captain Patrick Cronin and Vicent Mico won 6-1 for their 6th straight victory, clinching the opening point. Mathis Collignon and Sky Thavornchaisophon led 5-2 when play was halted.

The Black and Gold stayed hot heading into singles. Collignon raced to a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot to put the second point on the board for AU. Shioi dictated play on court 2, adding a 6-1, 6-2 win for the Trojans. Cronin punctuated the day by rolling to a 6-1, 6-1 result on court 6.

When play was stopped, Mico, Poojith Reddy, and Hampton Goldman were closing in on their own victories at No. 3, 4, and 5.

UP NEXT

AU remains at home to take on No. 12 Catawba on Tuesday, April 8. The Trojans and Indians will match up approximately 30 minutes after the women's match ends. Catawba defeated AU 5-2 in Salisbury, N.C. last season.
