Lepervanche, Morgan Earn Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Juan Pablo Lepervanche (Caracas, Venezuela) of the men's soccer team and Aliyah Morgan (Fort Myers, Fla.) of the women's soccer team have been named the Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 29.

Lepervanche led the Trojans in another week where they remained unbeaten with a 1-1 tie against Lenoir-Rhyne and a 3-1 win against Catawba. The sophomore had two goals including the game winner against Catawba, who was ranked sixth in the region at the time.

Morgan had two outstanding games that earned her the SAC/WePlayed Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award. In a big 1-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne, the freshman tallied 11 saves for her fourth career shutout. The Bears had not lost a conference game since 2021 before the Trojans' win. Against No. 8 Catawba, Morgan allowed just one goal and made four saves.

Each week, student-athletes are honored for his or her performance in competition, classroom or community, being named the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week.
