SUMTER, S.C.--The Trojans traveled to Sumter on Saturday afternoon and bounced back from Wednesday's loss with an impressive 6-1 win over USC Sumter.
Adding Trojan transfers Stanley Long and Spencer Dorosheff back into the lineup after the two missed the midweek match due to illness, Anderson quickly got into a rhythm in doubles play, sweeping all three courts to take a 1-0 advantage into singles.
The Trojans picked up straight-set wins on Courts 1, 2,5 and 6 by Vicent Fenollar, Mathis Collignon, Sky Thavornchaisophon and Long respectively. On Court 3, Wynn Shioi earned another point for the Black and Gold with a three-set victory over his Fire Ant opponent. The host team claimed their only point of the day on singles Court 4, when Dorosheff retired the match down 1-3 in the third set.
AU enters another two-match week, traveling to Truett McConnell on Wednesday (Oct. 29) and Columbia College on Thursday (Oct. 30).
