ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University head football coach Bobby Lamb has announced the signing of 56 student-athletes who will join the Anderson football program in the fall of 2023.
The 56 student-athletes signed their official letters, Wednesday, Feb. 1 (National Signing Day)
"What an exciting day for Trojan football!" said Lamb. "The first recruiting class in school history has been secured. We could not be more thrilled with the collection of student-athletes that have inked National Letters of Intent to play here at Anderson University."
Anderson's inaugural (2023) signing class is comprised of players from four states, with the Palmetto State producing the highest number of signees (40), while 13 signees were from the Peach State, with North Carolina and Maryland following with two signees and one signee each, respectively.
The Trojans signed 27 players on offense and 29 players on defense in their inaugural class.
"Our coaches have worked tirelessly over the last calendar year to recruit some of the finest high school players in the Carolinas and Georgia," added Lamb. "They quickly identified high-quality students that are committed to excelling academically, socially and athletically. This group of young men will lay a solid foundation that will allow us to compete at a championship level in the South Atlantic Conference when we begin play in 2024. Go Trojans!"
The Trojans are slated to begin their inaugural season in Sept., 2024.
