SAC RELEASE
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- After completing their second season of competition, the Anderson Univeristy Trojans football team continues to make marks on program history as two members of the 2025 squad were named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Conference team as announced by the league on Friday, November 28. This year's team features 29 members on each of the First and Second Teams, split out to 16 offensive players and 13 defensive players, with the members of each squad voted upon by the league's head coaches.
The Trojans had two members named to the Second-Team for their respective positions. Redshirt-sophomore linebacker
Josiah Jeffery (Greenwood, S.C.) was the lone representative on the defensive side of the ball while redshirt-sophomore offensive lineman
Kamron Burris (Doraville, Ga.) was the lone member on the offensive side.Â
Burris was a key member of the offensive line that saw one of the more prolific running offenses in the league. The Trojan offense was able to rack up 1,726 yards on the year, averaging 157 yards per game on the ground, while also accounting for 18 touchdowns. Just as important to the run game, Burris and the offensive line allowed the Trojans quarterbacks to complete 160 passes on the season, average 191 yards and tacking on 14 additional touchdowns. These stats helped the Trojans to better than 40% on both third and fourth down conversions.Â
Jeffery was the second highest tackler on the Trojans defense this season, accounting for a total of 75 tackles, 25 solo and 50 assisted. He was able to hurry the quarterback on the three different occasions while adding in 4.0 TFLs on the season for losses of 11 yards. He turned in one pass breakup while recording a sack on the season as well, for a loss of seven yards. Three times this season, Jeffery and the Anderson defense were able to hold opponents to just double digit rushing numbers on the ground, also adding one time held to double digits through the air as well. The Trojans defense set a new record for least amount of yards allowed in a game when they held Tusculum to just 88 total yards in a 30-0 shutout at home.
