HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
Newberry jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead after center fielder Zane Tarrance was hit by a pitch with one out and scored on Braylin Marine's opposite-field triple down the right-field line.

Cottone then settled down and retired seven straight batters and nine of the next 10 Wolves, with the Trojans rallying to take a 3-1 lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Newberry knotted the score with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, while AU took advantage of three singles to plate a pair of runs in its half of the sixth inning to regain the lead, at 5-3.

Tarrance came to the plate with no outs and bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning and gave the Wolves the lead for good with a grand slam by lifting the ball just over the left-field fence.

The Trojans rallied again – deadlocking the score at 7-7 by plating two runs in the bottom of the inning when Carlos Hernandez singled to bring home Van Ness from third and Andress followed by bouncing out to the right side to score JC LeGrand with the tying run.

Neither team managed to push a run across in the eighth and with the top of the order due up for both squads in the ninth inning, the Wolves managed to score a solo run with one out, while the Trojans were retired in order.

Game 2
The Wolves scored three times in the top of the top of the third and added another run in the fourth, before Vella led off the bottom of the fourth with a single and scored on Andress' two-out base hit.

Newberry pushed out to a 5-1 advantage with a run in the top of the fifth, while Vella drove in a pair of runs with a two-out single in the bottom of the inning to trim the deficit to 5-3.

But the Wolves broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning and added two more in their final at-bat after AU scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth.
