HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans batted around in the bottom of the first inning and capitalized on three walks and three singles to gain an early 4-0 lead, while Emmanuel countered by trimming AU's lead to just one by scoring three runs with two outs in the top of the third.
Following a scoreless fourth inning, the Lions knotted the score at 4-4 with an unearned run in the fifth frame and each team notched solo runs in the seventh inning. With the score deadlocked at five apiece heading into the bottom of the eighth inning, Shane Thomas beat out a single to the left side of the infield and put the Trojans on top 6-5 after moving up on three consecutive wild pitches.
But the Trojans, who were playing their fourth game in three days, were unable to hold of the Lions, who pushed across the tying and winning runs with no outs in the top of the ninth and AU was retired in order in its final at-bat.

The two teams combined to strand 14 runners on the night.
