Box Score ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson baseball team wrapped up its three-game South Atlantic Conference series with an 11-3 setback to defending SAC Regular Season Champion Catawba, Monday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
Anderson slipped to 14-6 overall and 1-5 in conference action with its fifth setback in six decisions, while Catawba improved to 14-10 and 4-2 with its sixth win in eight outings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Jaxon Young recorded two of the Trojans' five hits on the afternoon, with a pair of singles and he also crossed the plate once. Nick Vella was 1-for-4, with his third triple of the season and scored a run. JC LeGrand and Luke Poole each added singles, while Brayden Owens was 1-for-3 with a single.
Freshman Walker Noland (2-2) drew the start on the mound and suffered the loss after allowing six runs on 10 hits over 4.1 innings. He walked two batters and struck out three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Indians pushed out to a 4-0 lead after 2 ½ innings, before AU countered with solo runs in the third and fourth frames to slice the deficit in half.
Bur the Indians got the runs back with two in the top of the fifth and added five more in the seventh to build an 11-2 cushion the Trojans wrapped up the scoring with another solo run in the bottom of the seventh.

Pitchers Nicolas Miller and Ivan VanBeverhoudt combined to hold Catawba without a hit over the final three innings.
