Anderson, S.C. – Anderson University men's and women's tennis defeated nonconference opponent Emmanuel, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon at AU Tennis Complex.
With the wins, men's tennis moves to 1-0 overall, while the women's tennis team improves to 2-0 during its Fall season.
AU men's tennis earned the early doubles point winning both the first and second flights. Senior tandem Ignacio Bidegain and Preston Morpeth defeated Lucas Hideo Sasaki and Thembo Makhanya, 6-2, while Trojan pairing Adam Kush and Aaron Cabo defeated Juan Carlos Romero and Hassan Badran, 6-3.
The Black and Gold won five of the six singles matches to set the final score, 6-1.
AU women's tennis also won the doubles portion to earn the early advantage. Trojan duo Anna Greer and Mirna Curcic defeated Zyanya Rogel Valenci and Kristina Khmelevskai, 6-2, while Anya Tarlouskaya and Victoria Wuilloud won, 6-4, over Victoria Silva and Selina Donecker.
Anderson relinquished just one point in the singles portion winning the match, 6-1.
