Junior right-hander Stetson Scott (1-2) took the loss after surrendering six runs on six hits in 1 1/3 innings. He struck out one and walked one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Nighthawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on the strength of a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning, while Overton responded for AU by leading off the second frame by clubbing his home run over the right-field fence.

North Georgia sophomore Andres Perez then drilled his second three-run homer in as many at-bats to fuel a four-run second inning, as the Nighthawks opened a 7-1 lead.

Neither team managed to score again until senior Tyler Miller led off the eighth inning by beating out an infield single and crossed the plate on Carpenter's double into the gap in left-center. North Georgia wrapped up the scoring by plating two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
