SALISBURY, N.C. - Playing in its third South Atlantic Conference match of the season, Anderson University men's tennis came away with a 6-3 win over Catawba at the Johnson Tennis Center.

The Trojans improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play while Catawba falls to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in the SAC.

In doubles action, Anderson was able to post two wins as duo Aljaz Cajzek and Mateo Rivas won 8-5 over Jack Mordey and Mitchell McDonald at the No. 1 spot. The Black and Gold No. 2 tandem Paul Michael Calhoun and Inaki Iriberri earned an 8-4 victory over Michael Patch and Lucca Picca.

In the singles portion, the Black and Gold came away with four wins to seal the 6-3 victory. At No. 1 Cajzek defeated Jack Mordey 6-3, 6-4. Trojan senior Rivas won 6-4, 7-5 over Lucas Miller at the No. 2 spot while Iriberri claimed a 6-3, 6-0 win over Mitchell McDonald at No. 5. At the No. 6 slot, Ramiro Urreta def. Iago Montero Nunez 7-5, 6-1.

Anderson returns to the courts on Sunday when it travel to Queens. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
