ANDERSON, S.C. - Despite not seeing the courts in over two weeks, Anderson University men's tennis show no signs of rust as it cruised to a 7-2 victory over Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Max Grubbs Memorial Courts.

With the victory, the Trojans improve to 5-1 on the young season with a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play, while the Lions fall to an even 4-4 mark with a 0-3 record in the SAC. Saturday's contest was originally scheduled to be played in Mars Hill, but inclement weather forced the contest to be moved to the Electric City.

AU began the match with two wins in the doubles round, as Mateo Rivas paired up with newcomer Harrison Kansol and shutout MHU's Sam Lee and Blake Covington, 8-0, at the No.2 position. At No. 3, juniors Paul Michael Calhoun and Inaki Iriberry posted an 8-3 triumph over Markus Gattner and Carlos Suares Riesco to hand AU a 2-1 lead heading into singles.

The Trojans continued to add team points in the singles portion, as sophomore Juan Carracedo tallied a 7-5, 6-4 win over MHU's Alberto Ortiz at the No. 2 spot, while Rivas made his afternoon a perfect one with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Gattner at the No. 3 position. Calhoun defeated Riesco 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4 slot, while Iriberry notched a 6-2, 6-1 win over Covington at No. 5. Kansol rounded out Anderson's victories on the day with three-set 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 triumph over Lee at the No. 6 spot.

Anderson returns to action on Monday when it seeks a Beville Cup point against archrival Erskine. The first set from Max Grubbs Memorial Courts is scheduled for 3 p.m
