GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Anderson men's tennis team rebounded from a home setback to Lees-McRae by winning its second match in three outings by defeating Limestone, 7-2, Friday afternoon at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center. Anderson improved to 9-6 overall and 6-1 in Conference Carolinas action, while Limestone slipped to 7-8 and 3-3. Anderson's Ilya Zakharov and Renato Assuncao won 8-6 at the top doubles flight, as Stephane Murray and Stan Atema edged their opponents 9-7 at the No. 2 spot. Assuncao and Stephenson battled it out in the No. 2 singles contest with Assuncao coming away with a three-set win (6-4, 4-6, 12-7). Zakharov got a two-set victory at No. 3 (7-5, 6-2), Atema won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4, and John Karle won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. Deni Mehagic got a 7-5, 6-4 victory at the No. 6 slot.
