Osmar Garcia-Araujo (Sugar Hill, Ga.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season.
The Sugar Hill, Ga. native averaged 22.5 points per game on the week while leading the Trojans to a 102-96 ranked win at Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday. At home on Friday, he notched his third double-double of the season, putting up 20 points and grabbing 11 boards against Emory & Henry. Already in the nation's top-10 in field goal percentage, Garcia-Araujo shot 80% from the field and 100% from the charity stripe at LR before posting a 55.6 field goal percentage and 71.4 free throw percentage against E&H. Defensively, the 6'7" forward tallied 14 rebounds, four steals and two blocks on the week.
The No. 7 Trojans are 17-1 overall and 11-1 in the South Atlantic Conference and remain undefeated at home while in the nation's top 10 in nearly five statistical categories. Anderson continues to rewrite the record books with a historical season for the Black & Gold.
The Trojans return on the road when they take the short trip to Wingate on Wednesday for their second matchup of the season. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
