ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson University volleyball program has released the fall 2025 schedule, which is set to begin Sept. 5.
The Trojans have one home game in September before a heavy home schedule in October and early November.Â
"This schedule should should do a great job of preparing us for another run to the post-season," head coach
Todd Hay said. "It is unique to only have one home match before October but that's due in large part to the conference having to shuffle the schedule at the last minute. However, our team has been very good on the road and I believe we will bond well during the month of September. We are excited to have so many home matches in October and early November. "
Anderson opens the 2025 season with a trip to Florida for the Jet's Pizza FSC Volleyball Classic hosted by Florida Southern College with three nonconference matchups scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 5.Â
The Trojans will head to their second tournament of the season the following weekend at the Valdosta State University Fall Tournament with three more nonconference games lined up the weekend of Sept. 12.Â
Their home opener comes Sept. 23 when they host nonconference opponent Converse University at 7 p.m.
South Atlantic Conference play begins early in the season for the Trojans when they head to Lenoir-Rhyne University on Sept. 16. with just one more nonconference competition set for the rest of the season.Â
Anderson will round out the regular season with back-to-back home games against Mars Hill University (Nov. 11) and Wingate University (Nov. 14) before the SAC Tournament begins on Nov. 18. The Trojans advanced to the SAC Semifinals last season.Â
The Trojans will look to rising seniors
Katy Smith (Fleming Island, Fla.) and
Kaitlyn Barrett (Inman, S.C.) as leaders on the offensive and defensive sides while a stacked junior class of
Sophie Deese (Hickory, N.C.),
Ellie Nieporte (Boca Raton, Fla.),
Karley Black (Leander, Texas),
Emily Campbell (Statesville, N.C.) and
Ava Reeves (Lexington, S.C.) will add to that experience.
Reeves, Nieporte and Campbell were named to All-Conference teams at the end of the 2024 season while Nieporte and Reeves received AVCA All-Region and All-American honors.
Coach Hay is entering his ninth season with the Black and Gold and riding a successful 2024Â season that ended in the Trojans' eighth-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He is assisted by
Chad Odom and first-year assistant and Anderson alumni Savannah Calvert (Cox).
"We are looking forward to working our way through what promises to be a challenging schedule from the opening weekend to the final match," Hay said. "While we only have 25 matches compared to the norm of 27-28, I feel like the strength of the schedule will be very good."
