Calvert Named to Volleyball Coaching Staff

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University volleyball program is excited to announce the hiring of Savannah Calvert ('25) as the new Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the Trojans.

"I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to be Assistant Coach for a program I have been a part of for the past four years," Calvert said. "As an Anderson University alumni, it was so easy to decide to continue my time here. I strongly believe in Anderson University volleyball and what Coach Hay has built and continues to build. The competitiveness of the program as well as the culture of the team is something I am excited to contribute to, but now in a different way and from a new perspective. Great things are happening within AU athletics, and I am honored that I get to be a part of something that God so evidently has His hand in. Go Trojans!"

Calvert, maiden name Cox, competed for the Trojans from 2021-2024. She was a consistent contributor her sophomore and junior seasons, playing in 40 games and 110 sets. She came up with 283 digs and 134 assists. Calvert took on a leadership role her senior season before stepping into this full-time position.

Off the court, Calvert was a member of SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) and served as President her senior year.

Calvert graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marketing in May of 2025.

"We are so excited to have Savannah join our program," head coach Todd Hay said. "She has always exhibited strong leadership qualities and a good knowledge for the game. As an alumni of AU and our volleyball program, she knows the culture we have on our team as well as the Christian mission of the university. She has often expressed the calling she feels to be at Anderson and to mentor these players on the court and in life. Welcome to the coaching staff, Savannah! I know you are going to be an amazing addition to our team and campus community."

Calvert is originally from Simpsonville, S.C. where her parents, Hunter and Jenny Cox, and brother, Sam Cox, still live. She currently resides in Anderson, S.C. with her new husband, Jacob.
