Wynn Promoted to Associate Head Coach

ANDERSON, S.C. – After helping the Anderson University women's basketball team capture the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship, and a berth to the NCAA Regional tournament last season, head coach Jonathon Barbaree has announced the promotion of Maya Wynn to Associate Head Coach of the women's basketball program, effectively immediately.

"We are excited to announce this promotion for Maya. She has played a huge role in the success of the program over the past two seasons," said Barbaree. "With her returning for another year, it was a no-brainer to reward her with becoming the associate head coach."

Wynn just recently wrapped up her second season with the Trojans, helping the team achieve new heights on the court while getting recognized for her efforts by her peers by being named a 30 Under 30 honoree by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The WBCA Thirty Under 30 special recognition program was established to honor 30 of the up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under in the sport at all levels of the game.

Since joining the staff, Wynn has assisted in the mentorship of four All-American's, three major conference award winners, five All-Conference honorees and a SAC Tournament title.

Wynn joined the Trojans from Winthrop, where she served one season under head coach Semeka Randall Lay. Prior to being an Eagle, Wynn came from Cincinnati, where she served as an interim assistant coach in 2021-22.

"As a head coach, you want loyalty and consistency within your program and Maya is a perfect example of both of those traits," concluded Barbaree. "Her faith in Christ and her dedication to helping these young ladies grow into strong women is essential to what we want our players to be exposed to during their time here at Anderson. We are blessed to have Maya as part of our Trojan family."
