Diamond McDowell continues to garner post season awards earning a spot on the D2CCA All-America Team released by the association on Tuesday afternoon.
McDowell led the NCAA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (9.6) and ranked third nationally in double-doubles (20) while averaging 18.6 points (T-22
nd in NCAA) and 12.6 rebounds per game (2
nd in NCAA).
A three-time SAC Player of the Week and two-time WBCA National Player of the Week, McDowell was named SAC Tournament MVP and earned spots on the SAC First Team, D2CCA Southeast All-Region Team and the WBCA All-America Team (HM). She also set a program record for career double-doubles (58) and became just the second player in Anderson history to surpass 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
McDowell leaves her mark in the Anderson record books, ranking first all-time in total rebounds (1,203) and defensive rebounds (827) while finishing second in offensive rebounds (376), fourth in blocks (133), and sixth in games started (111).
