GREENEVILLE, TENN. – Post-season began for Anderson women's cross country team on Saturday morning with the South Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Tusculum University. The men's team raced first, followed by the women, landing 3rd on the leaderboard.
"Our women ran a gutsy race and put themselves in position early on to perform well." said head coach Kevin Eagle.
The Black and Gold finished with three All-Conference athletes, as sophomore
Kennedy Roush (Greer, S.C) ran a 23:19.84 for a 4th place, First-Team finish, followed by senior
Emma Whitaker (Inman, S.C.) in 11th with a 24:27.27 Second-Team finish. Sophomore
Hope Edmunds (Sandy, Utah) ran a 25:12.00 for a 19th place, Third-Team finish.

Natalie States (Greensboro, N.C.) finished 4th for the Trojans and 33rd on the field with a time of 25:51.03, while senior
Sarah Rudolph (Winter Springs, Fla.) ran a 26:00.46 to finish 35th overall and 5th for the Black and Gold.
Rounding out the scoring for Anderson was sophomore
Molly Hanlon (Cumming, Ga.) who finished 37th overall with a time of 25:15.12 and freshman
Emory Dargan (Columbia, S.C.), running for 26:55.90, finishing 47th overall.
"From seeing them at the 1k mark on the course, I knew that they came to battle and it proved that we are one of the better teams in the SAC and the region. We have two weeks to sharpen up before the regional championship as we look to punch our ticket to nationals. This group has been getting better each and every week and it has been a blast to watch this team grow."
The Trojans look ahead to the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in two weeks (Nov. 8) hosted by Wingate.
