ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's lacrosse team climbed in the national rankings after a thrilling 15-14 overtime win over Limestone over the weekend (Mar. 11). The Trojans are inside the top-10 at No.9 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll, while being ranked 12th for USILA, and 14th in the Inside Lacrosse poll.
Freshman Brayden Bushnoe scored the game-winning goal in overtime, finishing the afternoon with three goals. Radyn Badraun led the offense with four, while Peyton Jefferson led the defense with three caused turnovers. Goalie Hunter Klosterman was terrific in goal as he picked up 15 saves, with Cam Weeks continuing his dominance in the faceoff by winning 21 of his 31 attempts with 13 ground balls.
"Could not be prouder of our team's effort in the win," said coach Albert Mitchell. "Where we lacked in execution at times, we made up for it with toughness and heart. Hats off to Limestone for a great game. Our focus turns to Tusculum."
The Trojans will be back in action on Wednesday (Mar. 15) as they travel to Greeneville, Tenneseee to take on Tusculum. Game time is set for 4:00, with video and live stats available at autrojans.com.
Tusculum enters the week with a 4-4 record, coming off a 7-5 loss to the Coker Cobras. The Pioneers are 0-2 in SAC play, with the other loss to No.8 Wingate by a score of 20-8.
