With four players reaching double figures, the Anderson women's
basketball team rolled to an 80-48 nonconference win past rival
Erskine before a raucous crowd Wednesday night at the Abney
Athletic Center.
Anderson (1-1)
claimed its 11th consecutive win past Erskine and has won 15 of the

to defeat the Trojans for the first time since 2006, slipped to 0-3
on the season.

trailed just once in the opening minute of the game, as Erskine
scored the first basket of the contest.
Clinging to a
22-17 lead with less than three minutes left in the first half,
Anderson closed the frame with nine unanswered points to take a
31-17 lead at intermission. Freshman guard Madison Floyd ignited
the outburst, with senior forward Tilde Ahlin adding five of her
seven points on the night during the outburst.
The Trojans
steadily built a 21-point cushion with 14:20 left in the contest
and maintained the margin the rest of the way.
Anderson senior
guard Alissa Diaz led all scorers with 15 points, while forward
Breonda Shannon narrowly missed her second consecutive
double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Floyd added 11
points and two assists, with sophomore Jasmine Franklin chipping in

and Tara Potter netted 11.
Anderson
out-rebounded the Fleet, 41-35 and out-shot Erskine 41.7 percent to
34 percent.
Anderson
will look to continue building momentum as the Trojans open a
five-game road swing, beginning with a pair of contests at
Armstrong Atlantic's Fairfield Inn
& Suites Lady Pirate Classic in Savannah, Ga. The Trojans open
the tourney versus Flagler on Friday at 5 p.m., then face the host
Pirates on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
