CARY, N.C. - Anderson third baseman Blake May has been named to
the 2011 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team, as announced by the
American Baseball Coaches Association Thursday afternoon.
Recently earning all-district recognition for his outstanding
defensive effort on the diamond last season, the rising senior from
Largo, Fla., led the South Atlantic Conference at the hot corner by
recording a league-best .967 fielding percentage during the 2011
campaign.
May committed just five errors while helping turn four double
plays and starting all 50 games for the Trojans. On the offensive
side, he was fifth on the squad with a .274 batting average. May
was also named to the 2011 South Atlantic Conference Gold Glove
Team.
Joining May on the prestigious squads were Wingate's Dodson
