Box score

DUE WEST, S.C. - Four Erskine pitchers combined to scatter five hits as the 17th-ranked Flying Fleet shut out Anderson, 6-0, in non-conference baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Grier Field.

Anderson (5-5) suffered its' second consecutive setback after winning four straight, while Erskine (5-0) stayed undefeated on the early season.

The Flying Fleet struck first, as Brian Laznik notched a one-out triple in the bottom of the second inning and scored the game's first run on Zach Smith's single to left field, but AU hurler Ben Robersts worked out the jam when Zach McCarthy lined out to Erick Sanderson at first, who stepped on the bag before Smith got back to complete the double play.

Erskine capitalized on a lead-off double, a pair of walks and two sacrifices to push its advantage to 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth and added another run in the sixth to push its lead to four.

The Flying Fleet broke the game open with a pair of runs in the seventh inning and the Trojans were unable to push any runs across in their final two at-bats.
