ANDERSON, S.C. -- In the first Clippd Rankings of the Year, which serve as the official NCAA Rankings, the Anderson University women's golf team found themselves on top of the country as they sit ranked No. 1 in the poll, as released on Wednesday, October 16.
The Trojans had a weighted points average of 92.77, just edging out the second place team in the rankings, Wingate, who earned 92.37 points. Those two teams were light years ahead of the rest of the rankings as Dallas Baptist, who sits at No. 3, only garnered 60.37 points. Findlay and Flagler rounded out the Top-5. Lincoln Memorial was the only other South Atlantic Conference school in the rankings, notching themselves at No. 22.
Individually, the Trojans had five members of the squad ranked in the top-35 with junior
Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, S.C.) sitting ranked highest at No. 3. Senior
Kennedy McGaha (Honea Path, S.C.) and junior
Paige Paolucci (Blythewood, S.C.) sit ranked No. 18 and No. 19 nationally while senior
Zoey Iglesias (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) currently ranks No. 24. Junior
Aly Francis (Stockbridge, Ga.) rounds out the five players as she sits No. 35.
Freshman
Olivia Pellerin (Greenville, S.C.) sits ranked just outside of the top-100, at No. 109 while Sophomore
Yvette Gorden (Montgomery, Ala.) sits at No. 166.
This is the first time in program history that the Trojans have topped a national ranking, with their highest ranking coming in the WGCA Poll from the preseason of 2022, where they were ranked 3rd.
