Pellerin Tops Leaderboard; Francis Ties Program Record; Trojans Finish 2nd at LeeAnn Noble

DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- Sophomore Olivia Pellerin (Greenville, S.C.) notched her first collegiate tournament win, firing a birdie on the final hole of the tournament to finish -10 to help the nationally fifth-ranked Anderson University women's golf team to a second place overall finish at the 2025 LeeAnn Noble Memorial Tournament, hosted by North Georgia. Senior Aly Francis (Stockbridge, Ga.) also posted an individual record mark, tying the program's lowest round with a seven-under 65 in the first round of the tournament, just the third time that score has been shot by a Trojan, with the other two coming from senior Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, S.C.) earlier in her career.

The Trojans finished second on the team leader board behind Wingate, who surged to the top of the standings with the second best team round of the week. Lee, North Georgia and Saint Leo rounded out the top-five finishers.

"We finally got back to playing Trojan golf this week," commented director of golf Denton Moore. "There was so much good this week, and it was a full team effort. We also did it without one of our better players Olivia Roberts at home nursing an injury. That makes me feel even better about it. We played extremely well in a tough field. Wingate is the number one team in the country, and sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team. I am really proud of this group this week. The season hasn't started off quite like we would have liked, but I truly believe this week we got it back on track."

Pellerin took home her first medalist honor, shooting rounds of 68, 68 and 70, to finish 10-under on the week and two strokes ahead of her nearest competitor. Her lead was in jeopardy after bogeying the 17th in the third round, but was able to answer back with a birdie on 18 to secure the win. Francis came out the gate hot with a program-record tying effort of 65 in a bogey-free first round. She would ended up on the All-Tournament team with a third-place showing a six-under for the event.

"Olivia was close to perfect this week, and it resulted in her first ever college win. She was so close last year as a freshman, and I kept telling people how close she was. She has been rock solid this season, and this week she was awesome. We have tweaked her swing a lot since she arrived last year, and this week it all came together. I am so proud of her. Aly was very special as well. That first round program record 65 was unreal. It was also bogey free. She is coming off her first ever All-American season and she is backing it up with another good one."

Gooding finished just outside the top-10 with an 11th place showing on the week. She was consistent with her scoring, carding rounds of 72, 73 and 70 on the week. Senior Claudia Hastings (Liverpool, England) rounded out the week in 42nd after opening back-to-back rounds of 73. Senior Paige Paolucci (Blythewood, S.C.) rounded out the starting lineup with a 69th place finish. Individually, sophomore Peyton O'Brien (Salem, S.C.) got better each round on the week, finishing strong with a 73 in the final round to take home a 46th place finish.

"Kennedy Gooding was so consistent this week. It was another solid week for her as well. She had a huge final round for us. Claudia and Paige were so good on the first day, and Claudia gave us a really strong last six holes today when we had to have it. I am so proud of Peyton O'Brien. She has been working extremely hard. She had her career low 54 holes, and her career low 18 hole this week. She is gaining more experience, and gaining even more momentum with her game."

"This was a good week for the girls. We will head to Florida on Saturday for a big regional event, and see if we can't keep the gas pedal down. I am super excited about getting right back to work with the girls in just a couple days! Go Trojans!"

The Trojans return to action in one week in Dade City, Fla. as they take on the Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
