CARMEL, Calif. – The nationally third-ranked Anderson University women's golf team headed to the West Coast of the United States to pick up a fifth-place finish at the Patriot Invitational hosted by Dallas Baptist University at the Quail Lodge Golf Club in Carmel, Calif.
The Trojans finished +51 on the week to slot themselves in the fifth spot on the team leader board, just five shots out of fourth and eight shots out of second. DBU took home the team crown with a +27 score on the week.
Senior Aly Francis (Stockbridge, Ga.) finished as the highest Trojan golfer on the leader board, taking home a 12th place finish with a +12 score on the week. Sophomore Olivia Pellerin (Greenville, S.C.) finished just a stroke off her pace at +13 for the week, good enough for a 15th place showing.
Senior Claudia Hastings (Liverpool, England) was just a couple strokes behind her teammates, finishing +15 for the event in 19th place while fellow senior Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, S.C.) took home a 31st place showing with a +19 for the week.
Freshman Olivia Roberts (Chesnee, S.C.) rounded out the scorers for the Trojans on the week with a 45th place finish overall. Competing individually, senior Paige Paolucci (Blythewood, S.C.) finished just ahead of Roberts at +20 for the week to secure her 35th place finish.
The Trojans return to the course in two weeks time as they host their second event of the year, this time at The Patriot at Grand Harbor for the Grand Harbor Classic on March 30-31.
