ALLENDALE, MICH. – 12 Trojans from the Anderson Men and Women's Track & Field programs traveled to Allendale, Mich. to compete in the Grand Valley State University Big Meet, establishing three new program records on Friday and Saturday.
The meet was comprised of the top NCAA Div. II Track & Field programs across the nation. 12 Trojans took the trip to represent Anderson on the field.
At the GVSU Big Meet Friday, freshman
Gavin Malloy (Harrisburg, N.C.) broke the men's 800m program record with a time of 1:52.64, crossing the line 22nd out of 29 on the track while senior
Emma Whitaker (Inman, S.C) broke the women's 800m record, coming in 15th place out of 29 finishers for a time of 2:13.05.
In the men's 5k, sophomore Will Cronin (Lexington, S.C.) crossed the line second just behind Lewis University with a new personal best time of 14:32.41. Senior
Joey Tindale (Rock Hill, S.C) ran a new personal best mile with a finish of 4:05.56 to cross the line 8th out of 24. Sophomore
Hope Edmunds (Sandy, Utah) also notched a personal best finish in the mile with a time of 5:14.35 to finish 31st. Finishing 19th out of 39 in the men's 800m was freshman
Harrison Knight (Greenville, S.C.) with a new personal record of 1:54.60.
At the GVSU Big Meet Saturday, the Men's DMR comprised of freshmen

Joey Tindale broke the indoor program record with a national provisional time of 8:54.55 for an 8th place finish out of 23 teams.
The Trojans will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to compete in the JDL Last Chance Meet on Saturday, Feb. 21 before heading back to Winston-Salem for the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 28-March 1.
