HARROGATE Tenn. -- The Trojans fell to Lincoln Memorial (20-3, 15-3 SAC) on the road on Saturday afternoon. Anderson moves to 11-13 overall and 7-11 in the South Atlantic Conference with the loss.
"Thought we accomplished what we wanted on defense, but just went cold offensively at the wrong time in the fourth," head coach
Jonathon Barbaree said.
The Trojans were outscored 19-6 in the first quarter and an 18-point second quarter wasn't enough to make up the deficit. The Railsplitters went on another 19-4 tear in the final quarter to decide the win.
As a team Anderson shot 33.3 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from deep. They were only awarded one free throw while the Railsplitters were only awarded four. The Trojans won the boards 36-34.
Graduate student
Ciara Harris (Alexandria, Va.) flirted with a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. She added two steals.
Junior
Jessica Cooper (South Painfield, N.J.) came off the bench to add 10 points of her own.
Freshman
Ashley Hill (Covington, Ga.) dropped nine points on 4-6 shooting with four rebounds.
The Trojans finish out their three-game road stretch when they head to Catawba College on Wednesday, Feb. 18 for a 5:30 p.m. The Trojans earned a 67-57 win over the Catawba Indians earlier this season.
