Katie Morris (Valley, Ala.) has been named the season's first South Atlantic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Feb. 8.
The Valley, Ala. native finished the week 2-1 from the pitcher's mound, notching her second victory in the Trojan's home opener against Clark Atlanta.
Last week, Morris led Anderson to their first victory of their 2026 campaign during the season opener doubleheader against USC Aiken. In the first game of the DH, she pitched all seven innings, recording eight strikeouts and only allowing five hits with one run for a 1.00 ERA. In week two at home against Clark Atlanta, Morris pitched all seven innings, recording 11 strikeouts with just three hits, one run and a 1.00 ERA.
The Black and Gold are 5-3 on the season after sweeping nonconference opponent Emmanuel (Ga.) Monday afternoon.
The Trojans return home on Saturday when they host Augusta in a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for noon and 1 p.m.
