DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The No. 3 Anderson University women's golf team finished fifth at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial, posting a three-round total of 879 at Achasta GC.

"This was a tough week for us, and it happened in a loaded field," said director of golf Denton Moore. "We just didn't have our best stuff starting with coaching, all the way down to execution of simple stuff. The crazy thing is, 95% of the teams in the country would kill for this finish in this field. But, myself, Daniel, and these girls have a standard, and we just didn't quite get there this week."

Lillian McDermott led AU in a tie for ninth at 215 (-1), closing with a 68 (-4) in the third round. Presli Webb tied for 17th at 219 (+3), and Sarah Martin tied for 20th at 220 (+4).

Webb tied for 17th at 3-over 219, including a 2-under 70 in the opening round. Martin tied for 20th with a 4-over 220 after rounds of 73, 72 and 75.

"Lilly McDermott was awesome this week, and that final round was really special. Sarah Martin continues to be in my eyes the best freshman in the country. Presli Webb is going to be really special here over the course of her two years with us. Olivia Roberts and Olivia Pellerin were there when we needed them the most this week."

"I think our three events thus far will have us in the top 5 nationally. The standard here is just so high. But, I am extremely proud of the way they fought this week, and didn't let it get away from them. Even we aren't at our best, we are still very good, and that showed again this week. We will take a couple days to regroup, rest up, and then head to Pennsylvania for a really good test against another solid field. Really proud of this crew, and I love them! Go Trojans!!"

The Trojans head to the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania for their next tournament next week.
